Muslims go to a mosque on Friday to pray. Muslims do not have holy days, instead they gather on Fridays and pray. Muslims cannot eat pork and drink alcohol. There are over one billion Muslims. Judaism- Judaism is a monotheistic religion that has the Torah as the holy book. It is the oldest of the three religions and has influence the other two. Judaism comes from the descendants of the Hebrews. The main figure in their religion is God. Their symbol is the Star of David, it came from one of their Hebrew kings. The Jewish holy land is Israel and their holy city was Jerusalem. The Jewish place of worship is the synagogues and in the synagogues the worship is lead by a rabbi. The word "rabbi" means "Master". The holy days are the Shabbat, from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. Important holidays Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New year), Kippur (Day of Atonement), Simchat Torah (the receiving the Torah on Mont. Sinai), Chanukah (a celebration of military victory) and Passover (the remembrance of the time the Hebrew's stayed in Egypt.) Jews cannot eat anything that is not Kosher. Christianity- Christianity is a monotheistic religion that has the bible as the holy book and is based of the teachings of Jesus Christ. The central person of this religion is God. Their symbol is the cross that Jesus was crucified on. The holy city is Jerusalem and their house of worship are the churches. The worship is led by ministers or priests. The holy days are Christmas (The birth of Jesus), Easter ( When Jesus rose from the dead) Christians don't have a diet restriction.
